Hours of Operation

'Ksan Historical Village and Museum operates on a seasonal schedule. Hours and days of operation are as follows:

Summer Hours (April to September)
During the tourist season, 'Ksan's hours and days of operation are:

'Ksan is open seven days a week
Guided Tours available 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Winter Hours (October to March)

'Ksan's winter hours and days are:

'Ksan is open Monday to Friday
9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Note: The Museum and Giftshop are the only buildings that remain open during the winter schedule.

'Ksan Dancers

'Ksan Historical Village and Museum is owned and managed by the 'Ksan Association. The association is registered as a non-profit society under the Societies Act of British Columbia. Registration within the Societies Act ensures that 'Ksan Historical Village and Museum is under legal sanction to operate as a non-profit organization.

As a cultural centre, 'Ksan is committed to presenting the richness of Gitxsan culture, and promoting economic opportunities for local First Nations people of the Upper Skeena River region. To generate revenue and to fulfill this mandate, 'Ksan Historical Village and Museum has several services and fees.

Visitation Fee

‘Ksan Historical Village and Museum has a two-dollar visitation fee. The visitation fee is for visiting ‘Ksan’s museum and grounds. It is important to note that the two dollar fee does not allow access into the three tour houses; being the Frog, Wolf, and Fireweed Houses. To gain access into the tour houses, a guest has to pay the according fee and be accompanied by an official ‘Ksan Cultural Interpreter (tour guide). If a guest wishes to partake in a guided tour, but already has paid the two-dollar visitation fee, a refund for the two-dollar fee will be given and the guided tour charge will be applied. 'Ksan offers guided tours of the Frog, Wolf, and Fireweed Houses. Please visit the Tours Page for more informaion.

Museum Memberships

'Ksan Historical Village and Museum offers museum memberships. Memberships provide special privileges to their holders. For instance, museum members do not pay the visitation fee and also receive a discount on all giftshop merchandise, with an exception on books. Guided tours are also subject to this discount.

Memberships can only be purchased at the 'Ksan Village and Museum in Hazelton.

Yearly Membership: $15.00

Eagle House

During the summer months, Eagle House offers fresh salmon, as well as, other traditional Gitxsan dishes in a variety of different styles.
